How do you clean a cantera fireplace without damaging the stone?
With low-pressure, stone-safe cleaning that lifts soot, grime, and mineral deposits out of the texture without eroding the surface. No pressure washers, no acids, no abrasives, because all three erode soft cantera along with the dirt.
Why do my cantera columns and walls stain where the sprinklers hit?
Unsealed cantera drinks water, oil, and mineral-heavy irrigation water, and the marks stay. Constant wetting also erodes the stone. Keeping sprinklers off the stone where you can, then cleaning it and sealing it with a breathable sealer, deals with both the stains and the erosion.
Do you work on outdoor cantera fountains and patios as well as indoor fireplaces?
Yes. Indoor cantera fireplaces and outdoor patios, columns, and fountains follow the same sequence, with cleaning and sealing products chosen for each setting. Outdoor cantera exposed to sprinklers and monsoon rain usually needs the erosion and staining looked at first.
Can faded outdoor cantera get its color back?
Usually. Gentle cleaning removes the grime and mineral film that dulls it, and a color-enhancing sealer deepens the remaining color while keeping the matte finish and protecting the stone.
