RAKU exists for the way kitchens actually get used. These are the everyday incidents that mark natural stone counters, and the coating stands between them and yours.
RAKU is a protective coating that bonds to natural stone and forms a hard protective layer on the surface, applied by a certified two-person team. A standard impregnating sealer soaks into the stone and buys you wipe-up time. That difference is the whole decision.
RAKU is for natural stone countertops. Marble, travertine, limestone, quartzite, and onyx are all candidates. It is not applied to quartz, porcelain, or concrete, and if that's your counter we'll tell you up front and save you the estimate visit. A clear no here is how you know the yes means something.
Ask us to run a water-bead test on your own counter when we come out. It takes a minute and it shows you what the coating actually does better than any photo.
Every RAKU job starts with testing, not coating. Stone holding too much moisture will not bond correctly, and a bad bond is a failed coating, so we test the slab first and coat only when the stone is ready. The application is handled in place by a certified two-person team, and you get exact back-in-service timing before the job is booked.
Every RAKU application carries a ten-year warranty against etching, covering both product and labor. We walk you through the written terms before any work begins.
Restaurant bars, hotel vanities, and office reception stone see more use in a month than most kitchen islands see in a year, which is exactly the case for a bonded protective layer.

See the results for yourself. Our cleaning, polishing, and sealing services bring worn, stained, and dull surfaces back to life, with results you can see and trust.

How is RAKU different from sealing my countertops?

A sealer soaks into the stone and buys you wipe-up time. It is protection by delay. RAKU bonds to the surface and forms a hard protective layer on the stone itself, a different class of protection, and it carries a ten-year warranty against etching.
Will RAKU change how my countertop looks?

Whether the coating changes how your stone looks is the first question at the kitchen island, and we would rather show you than describe it. We test a small area on your own slab so you can see the finish before we commit to the whole counter.
Can RAKU go on quartz?

No. RAKU is approved for natural stone only, so quartz, porcelain, and concrete are out. We'd rather tell you that here than at your kitchen island.
How long does the application take and when can I use my kitchen again?

The work happens in place, on your counters, with no removal or reinstallation. You will have exact back-in-service timing before the job is booked.
What happens if the coating gets damaged?

The warranty covers etching for ten years, product and labor. Ask at the estimate and we will walk the written terms with you, including what is covered and what falls outside it, such as scratches or heat damage.
