RAKU is for natural stone surfaces. Marble, travertine, limestone, quartzite, onyx along with other natural stones are all candidates. We can also apply it to vertical surfaces such as backsplashes or wall sidings. It is not applied to quartz, porcelain, or concrete, and if that's your counter we'll tell you up front and save you the estimate visit.

Every RAKU application carries a ten-year warranty against etching, covering both product and labor. We walk you through the written terms before any work begins.

The work happens in place, on your counters, with no removal or reinstallation. Application takes hours, not days, and your counters are back in use the same day.

Is RAKU safe around food?

Yes. RAKU is food-safe once cured, which is why it's used on kitchen counters, bar tops, and hotel and restaurant surfaces. Once the coating has cured you prep, chop, and serve on it exactly as you did before.

What happens if the coating gets damaged?

The warranty covers etching for ten years, product and labor. Ask at the estimate and we will walk the written terms with you, including what is covered and what falls outside it, such as scratches or heat damage.
