How to Clean Natural Stone Counter-tops in Cave Creek, Arizona

How To Clean Natrual Stone Countertops in Cave Creek

Most Natural Stone and Quartz slabs are installed in kitchens, fireplace, mantels, restrooms and ledges, there are steps you can take to protect and enhance their appearance. Stone Care of Arizona, LLC would like to share 4 tips on keeping your Natural countertops looking awesome!

You will need the following items:

Terry Cloth Towels

3 Dedicated trigger sprayers (please mark on the outside)

Microfiber or natural hair brush

1 Plastic stiff brush for scrubbing

1 gallon of Neutral Stone Cleaner (7 on p/h scale)

1 gallon of Alkaline Stone Cleaner (8 and high on P/h scale)

1 gallon of food grade disinfectant to kill germs

Brass 14 inch Squeegee to control solution from running off onto the floor.

Here are 4 tips on how to maintain your countertops:

Tip 1#:

Regularly dry vacuum countertop to remove harsh abrasives. If you don’t have a vacuum, then use a very fine microfiber or natural fiber countertop brush to sweep the dry soil.

Tip 2#:

Apply Alkaline cleaner liberally on the surface of the countertop. Be careful not to allow cleaner to roll off onto cabinet or floors. Use squeegee to control the solutions.

Tip 3#:

Scrub hard surface with stiff brush to break up microscopic dried soil embedded in your countertop. Do not allow Alkaline cleaner to dry. Blot up excess cleaning compound with terry cloth towels. This is very important, you will need to neutralize the Alkalinity by applying neutral cleaner after you blot up to lower P/h on the surface. Use a terry cloth towel to remove until dry to the touch.

Tip 4#:

Countertops can be a breeding ground for germs. It is important that you have dedicated terry cloths that allow you to clean without cross contaminate your countertop. Apply a food grade disinfectant with a trigger sprayer directly on the clean counter-top especially where you wash dishes and prepare food. Use the unsoil terry cloth towels to absorb excess. This step is the final step you should use to ensure viruses are not lurching around on your Natural Stone with the potential for creating health issues.
